Between. Selected for an International Art Exhibition in South Korea

In November 2024, I traveled to South Korea to attend the opening of an international art exhibition exploring the theme of coexistence.
My photographic work, Between, was selected among the ten leading works from 365 works by artists from 66 countries.
Between was photographed from the Tower of David in Jerusalem in 2022. Through a narrow opening in the ancient stone, the city is revealed beyond. Within a single frame, old and new, sacred and secular, enclosure and openness meet.
At the heart of the work is a question that has accompanied my creative practice for years.
Can changing our point of view change what we are able to see?
The narrow opening becomes both a boundary and a possibility. Light enters through it. Different layers of Jerusalem coexist within the same image, creating a visual dialogue about difference, hope and the possibility of finding common ground.
The exhibition in South Korea explored the language of coexistence through works by artists from around the world. For me, participating in it was much more than exhibiting a photograph.
It was a continuation of my ongoing exploration of observation and perspective. Of looking again at what seems familiar, finding possibility inside limitation, and discovering how a shift in perspective can reveal something that was there all along.

Between. עבודה שנבחרה לתערוכת אמנות בינלאומית בדרום קוריאה
בנובמבר 2024 נסעתי לדרום קוריאה לפתיחת תערוכת אמנות בינלאומית שעסקה בנושא הקיום המשותף.
העבודה שלי, Between, נבחרה בין עשר העבודות המובילות מתוך 365 עבודות של אמנים מ 66 מדינות.
Between צולמה ממגדל דוד בירושלים בשנת 2022. דרך פתח צר באבן העתיקה נחשפת העיר, ובתוך מסגרת אחת נפגשים עתיק ומודרני, קודש וחול, סגירות ופתיחות.
במרכז העבודה נמצאת שאלה שמלווה את העשייה שלי כבר שנים.
האם שינוי בנקודת המבט יכול לשנות את מה שאנחנו מסוגלים לראות?
הפתח הצר הופך גם לגבול וגם לאפשרות. דרכו נכנס אור. שכבות שונות של ירושלים מתקיימות יחד בתוך אותה תמונה ומייצרות שיחה חזותית על שונות, תקווה והאפשרות למצוא מרחב משותף.
התערוכה בדרום קוריאה עסקה בשפת הקיום המשותף דרך עבודות של אמנים מרחבי העולם. עבורי, ההשתתפות בה הייתה הרבה מעבר להצגת צילום.
היא הייתה המשך ישיר לעיסוק שלי בהתבוננות ובנקודת מבט. להסתכל מחדש על מה שנדמה לנו כמוכר. למצוא אפשרות בתוך מגבלה. ולגלות איך שינוי קטן בדרך שבה אנחנו מסתכלים יכול לחשוף משהו שהיה שם כל הזמן.
